Description
Pique Assiette Mosaics is a type of mosaic that uses broken dishes and lots of bits and pieces, setting it apart from traditional tile mosaic.
Found on the side of a home in the ancient city of Safed (Tsfat), Israel, this highly stylized scarf design enhances the cracks and mortar surrounding the broken pieces to create the abstract design. This also is reminiscent of Kintsugi, the art of putting something that is broken back together in a way that makes it even more beautiful.
