Description
We’re taking our wonderful wool to the steamy sauna.
Wearing a wool hat in a sauna may seem counterintuitive but here’s the science behind it: wool’s breathable properties help regulate body temperature, protecting your head from overheating while allowing you to stay comfortable longer. Naturally insulating and moisture-wicking, wool prevents sudden temperature shocks, keeps your scalp dry, and shields hair from heat damage.
Made of 100% pure Canadian wool, spun, woven and sewn in Canada, this piece is part of the Ste.Marg.Scot natural wool collection that celebrates local craftsmanship and the purest of materials.
This bellflower shaped sauna hat keeps your head cool while you’re basking in the dry sauna heat. Beautiful, undyed wool, woven into a soft and durable blanket-like material, fitted comfortably to your head.
Featuring a handy dandy loop for easy hanging, allowing your hat to air out and dry so it's fresh and ready for your next sweat session.

Care
Spot clean with water (2/3) and vinegar/soda water (1/3) to remove discrete spots. Lightly dab the area to lift the stain.
To clean a wool sauna hat, follow these steps:
Hand Wash: Fill a basin with cool water and add a small amount of mild wool detergent. Avoid hot water, as it can cause shrinking. Let it soak for a few minutes, then rinse thoroughly with cool water. Avoid wringing or twisting. Instead, gently press out excess water. Lay hat flat on a clean towel, reshape it, and let it air dry away from direct heat or sunlight. Do NOT machine dry.
For regular maintenance, simply air it out after each use to keep it fresh.
Behind The Brand
Sasha holds several degrees (BSc, BEd, MSc), worked as a science educator for over 10 years, and performed research at Sickkids. Her work in drug discovery was awarded by Sickkids and published in the top gastroenterology journal. Sasha's background in science made her aware that most of the coats offered today are derived from non-renewable resources, i.e., synthetics and plastics from fossil fuels and metal zippers from mining.
She founded SteMargScot to challenge the complacency around synthetics in outerwear. Sasha is a member of the Canadian Wool Council's Policy Committee and advocates for the revival and revaluing of wool. SteMargScot has been spotlighted several times on national television, featured in ELLE Canada, nominated for best emerging brand by the Canadian Arts and Fashion Awards, and was the first brand to have a popup with Sporting Life.
