Tips to Help Your Personal Image Age More Gracefully

Aging gracefully is something many women aspire to, in order to both look and feel their best as the years pass by, while staying true to themselves along the way. If you're looking to evolve your look or lean into a new style, here are some things to consider when it comes to your personal image at any age:

Makeup

What worked when you were 20 may not work the same way when you're 40, 50 or 60+. As you age, try lightening your look to avoid looking too "hard", which ultimately makes you look older. Opt for soft eye shadows that are matte, and a soft eyeliner shaded with an angled brush.

Hair Color & Length

Choose a hair color that’s not too light or too dark; a professional hairstylist can help you select a color that will suit your skin tone. Colors that are too drastic in either extreme will offset your skin tone in a negative way, so be sure to get an expert opinion.

When it comes to the length of your hair, the more softness and volume you can add, the better. As we age, our hair ages as well, and longer lengths that were once a staple style back in the day may now look thinned or sparse. Ensure that you choose a style that you can feel comfortable working with on a daily basis; one that will fit your lifestyle and ideally won't require too much maintenance.

Clothing & Accessories

If you're like most women, you have a closet full of clothes, and still feel like you have nothing to wear. First and foremost, have fun and show your style! You can be stylish and modern by wearing clothes that highlight your most loved features, in colors that suit your skin tone. Accessories can add extra flare and style as well; think nice bracelets, long earrings and necklaces, and fantastic shoes that compliment your outfit. Sky's the limit!

Personal image doesn't have to be all or nothing. As women age, we tend to throw more caution to the wind and get comfortable being who we truly want to be. After all, the only person you need to impress is yourself.
