Wearing Necklaces in Winter

Written by Lauren Breuer

Winter layers have a reputation for hiding jewelry. Turtlenecks, knits, sweaters that feel practical first and styled second. But jewelry doesn’t disappear in winter. It just needs to meet the moment.

Here’s how I’ve been wearing necklaces lately, without changing outfits or overthinking it.

WITH A TURTLENECK
With a turtleneck, I look for presence and structure. A necklace that sits intentionally against the knit instead of getting lost in it. Pearl Forte works beautifully here because the pearls and wire hold their own against heavier textures.

When I want a little more dimension, I sometimes layer with another piece I already own. Not to dress it up, just to subtly shift the energy. Same sweater, same base necklace, worn a slightly different way.

WITH A V-NECK
With a v-neck, everything opens up. The neckline does the framing for you. Pearl Forte feels lighter, easier, and closer to the body, the kind of piece you put on and forget about until someone comments on it.

That’s the thing about jewelry in winter. It’s not about having more. It’s about letting the pieces you love work with the clothes you actually wear.
