About The Author
Shainna Ali is a mental health counselor, educator, and advocate. Dr. Shainna is the creator of the Self Love Series including best-seller The Self-Love Workbook, The Self-Love Workbook for Teens, Luna Finds Love Everywhere: A Self-Love Book for Kids, and The Self-Love Planner. Her latest book emphasizes an integral process within self-love: boundaries. Designing Healthy Boundaries is a practical guide to creating limits with self-love. Dr. Shainna is passionate about destigmatizing mental health counseling and helping individuals worldwide recognize the importance of fostering mental wellness. She is the host of The Mental Wellness Practice podcast & the owner and operator of Integrated Counseling Solutions, LLC, a strengths-based mental health counseling and consulting practice located in Winter Park, Florida. As a mental health advocate Dr. Shainna has been featured in outlets such as on ABC, NBC, Yahoo, Bustle, NPR, The Washington Post, and The Insider.
She is a past president of the Florida Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development, presently serves on the editorial boards for the Journal for Creativity in Mental Health and the Journal of Counseling Sexology & Sexual Wellness: Research, Practice, and Education, and is an ambassador for the International Registry of Counselor Education programs. Dr. Shainna has been named an emerging leader by the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision and the Association for Creativity in Counseling, earned the Florida Counseling Association’s Pete Fischer Humanitarian Award, and was recently with the prestigious 30 under 30 award by her alma mater, the University of Central Florida.
