Behind The Brand
Mara Mennicken is the Founder of The GOOD Chocolatier, based in Vancouver, BC. As a chocolate lover and health enthusiast, she believes in nurturing her body with the best she can find, with a mission to turn 100 healthy years old. Raised into an ethical life way, Mara was always concerned with the story behind a product, wanting to know how it was produced, what was in it, and whether her consumption would have a positive or negative effect in long term – on the environment, on other people, and on herself. Mara found that quality matters more than quantity and that ‘Organic’ does not imply ‘Ethical’ at all.
Mara went vegan in 2012 after her Yoga Teacher Training in Thailand. During this time, she also discovered her deep indulgence for healthy dark chocolate. The more she was becoming an intuitive eater, the more she noticed that her body wanted chocolate as much as her mind and mouth did. She then came to Canada as a student, and along with that very fulfilling transition, The Good Chocolatier emerged! Mara's final project at University was around Social Enterprising and how to turn a small business into a social enterprise to change some of the existing power imbalances in our current system. Long study short, it works! Mara's hope is that with a fairly traded, organic, and plant-based product, she can contribute to a sustainable future that is based on high quality and coated in sweetness.

For all other items, original receipt must be included for full refund within 14 days of purchase, otherwise store credit or exchange will be offered for non-sale items within 14 days of purchase. All items must have product tags fully intact and product in same condition as when sold.
